Facilities and access 

Our team are here to ensure you enjoy your visit to Abbot Hall. We are always trying to improve our offer and we’d love to hear about your visit. Please get in touch if you have any feedback. 

  • Free entry to the creative space, coffee bar and gift shop
  • Pay and display parking on site in the Abbot Hall car park, operated by Cumbria Parking Services.
  • There is parking for Blue Badge holders.
  • Lockers

Accessibility

  • Disabled access toilet facilities 
  • Wheelchairs and light, hand-held portable stools available 
  • Hearing loop available at the visitor desk 
  • Parking for Blue Badge holders

Dogs

  • Assistance dogs only are welcome in the gallery.
  • Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome in the grounds and Coffee bar 
  • Dog station available for water 

Families

Families are always welcome at Abbot Hall and we have activities for all ages throughout the year.

  • Pushchair access throughout the gallery and creative space
  • Buggy park on the lower ground floor
  • Baby changing facilities
  • A creative and engaging programme of activities during term time and school holidays

Parents are welcome to breast or bottle feed babies in our creative space, where there is plenty of seating.

Food cannot be consumed anywhere in the gallery spaces. If you fancy a drink or snack you can visit the coffee bar in our creative space.

There is a play park with picnic area next door to our gallery, perfect for children to let off steam.

Access

The gallery is wheelchair accessible via the ground floor and internal lifts to all levels.

Assistance dogs are welcome in the gallery.

Admission is free for a companion accompanying a visitor with a disability.
