Families

Learning together helps develop our understanding and enjoyment. Our programme suits families of all ages and sizes, and most have been created with that in mind. We hope that all members of the family will get involved although some age restrictions may apply and are indicated where appropriate.

Self guided trails and toolkits

Our venues burst with information from the past and present, so we have created a few trails and toolkits to engage the youngest in your family.

Codebreaker

Pick up a Codebreaker challenge at Windermere Jetty Museum to learn how boats and ships use maritime flags to communicate with each other. Crack the code and win a prize.

Sensory Story and Map

Museums and historic houses can often be new and noisy. For some of our visitors this isn’t always a nice experience. We have a sensory story and map to prepare you for the museum and site and know who and what to look out for. Map available upon request.

Dress Up

There are a range of adult and child costumes at Windermere Jetty Museum. Dress like a Georgian, a Mayor or perhaps like a Boatbuilder. Whatever your size, the adventure awaits.
