For Guided Bird Watching Heritage Boat Tour

Step aboard Osprey, our restored 1902 steam launch, for a special bird watching edition of our regular 30-minute Heritage Boat Trip during Festival of the Lake.

Available during the morning sailings, this relaxed trip invites visitors to experience Windermere from the water while looking out for the birds around England’s largest lake.

John Peatfield, a local bird surveyor and wildlife expert, will be joining the morning trips to share insight along the way. You can also pick up binoculars from the front desk before you board, along with a family-friendly activity sheet to help curious young explorers spot wildlife around the lake.

Whether you’re a keen birdwatcher, a curious beginner or visiting with family, this is a lovely way to connect with Windermere’s natural world while enjoying a heritage boat trip aboard Osprey.

Available on the 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30pm Heritage Boat Trips only.
Later heritage Boat Trips will continue to run throughout the day as usual during Festival of the Lake.
