Join us for an action-packed weekend of hands-on STEM activities, fascinating talks and interactive workshops suitable for all ages, set across Windermere Jetty Museum’s spectacular lakeside site.
Enjoy live shows and demonstrations from leading science communicators and experts. Science Rapper Jon Chase will explore the science of dinosaurs in his hit show “The Science of Jurassic World”, uncovering the real facts behind the blockbuster films — with plenty of rap along the way.
Ever wondered how meteorologists predict the weather? Simon Gilbert from The Met Office will give a fun and family friendly talk on how to be a weather presenter and what goes into the perfect weather forecast.
Join ecologists for a canoe safari on Windermere and discover the science of volcanoes while exploring the lake from a different perspective.
Feeling adventurous? Dive into the festival’s iconic Big Float on Sunday 10 May, where you can build and test a full-sized cardboard boat on the lake.
Attendees are encouraged to get creative and come dressed in sci-fi inspired costumes – the more imaginative, the better!
Festival entry included with museum admission. Get your admission ticket here. Lakeland Arts Members and Annual Pass holders go free. Please note some activities may incur an additional cost.
