We’re delighted to announce the return of the Winter Craft Fair to Blackwell – the Arts & Crafts house this November.
This much-loved event, just a five-minute drive from Bowness-on-Windermere, brings together some of the country’s finest contemporary makers in a truly special Arts & Crafts setting. With its carefully crafted interiors, views across Windermere and rich connection to design and making, Blackwell offers an inspiring backdrop for showcasing and selling handcrafted work.
This year marks an exciting new chapter for the Winter Craft Fair. For the first time, we’ll be expanding across two consecutive weekends in November, offering even more opportunities for makers and artisans from across the UK to be part of this magical seasonal event.
Each weekend will feature a different selection of makers, creating a fresh and varied experience for visitors — and giving exhibitors the chance to be part of a thoughtfully curated event that celebrates quality, craftsmanship and creativity.
Key dates
Weekend 1: 13–15 November 2026
Weekend 2: 20–22 November 2026

What is the Winter Craft Fair at Blackwell?
Set within the beautifully preserved interiors of Blackwell – the Arts & Crafts house, the Winter Craft Fair offers a unique and intimate setting unlike most craft fairs.
Designed by architect Mackay Hugh Baillie Scott, Blackwell has a long-standing connection to craftsmanship and the principles of the Arts & Crafts movement where attention to detail, quality materials and thoughtful design are at the heart of making. It’s an especially fitting place to bring together makers and visitors who share a passion for handmade work and crafts.
Throughout the house, stalls are carefully placed around the rooms, allowing visitors to move through the space, discover work up close and connect directly with makers.
Why should I take part?
The Blackwell Winter Craft Fair has become a highlight of the Cumbrian calendar, attracting visitors who are actively seeking high-quality, handcrafted work in the lead-up to the festive season.
As a participating maker, you’ll benefit from a unique and inspiring setting to showcase and sell your work over three days. You’ll also gain exposure to a wide and engaged audience of visitors with a strong interest in craft and design, alongside promotion through Lakeland Arts’ digital channels and on-site marketing.
In 2025, 70% of makers generated over £500 during the Winter Craft Fair.
Stall spaces within the house are limited, making this a carefully curated and highly sought-after opportunity.
