COVID-19 policy for Blackwell

Government mandated restrictions relating to COVID-19 are lifted on 19 July 2021. At Blackwell, we wish to continue every effort to ensure the safety, comfort and happiness of our visitors and team members.

Listed below are some of the measures we are taking.

An updated risk assessment relating to the final stage of restrictions being lifted has been carried out and the following measures have been implemented by the team:

  • You will find that we are keeping the screens in place at our reception desk and Tea Room counter.
  • All our hospitality and front of house team members will continue to wear a face covering.
  • We will continue to follow the 1 metre + rule in our Tea Room by keeping tables spaced comfortably apart.
  • We continue to limit numbers of visitors into the house at any one time, allowing you to comfortably enjoy your visit.
  • You will still find hand sanitiser throughout the building for your use.
  • We will continue to regularly sanitise surfaces and encourage airflow through the building, where possible.
  • We continue to take all reasonable steps to ensure distance in the workplace where possible.
  • Staff members are actively taking regular lateral flow tests across their working week and temperature checks every workday on their arrival.

To help minimise the risk of spreading infection, we invite you to support our efforts by following these simple steps:

  • Please stay at home if you feel unwell and/or if you test positive for COVID-19.
  • While no longer mandatory, if possible, please continue to wear your face mask when inside our building.
  • Maintain socially distanced from others wherever possible.
  • We would prefer not to handle cash payments, so we encourage you to pay by card or contactless.
  • While it is no longer a legal requirement to check in or provide details for NHS Test & Trace, we invite you to check in on your arrival. You will find our NHS Test & Trace QR code at the main entrance and in the Tea Room and our team members will be happy to take contact details for those of you without the NHS Test & Trace app.
  • We have removed some of our one-way systems, but we ask that all visitors be mindful of others and make way for each other.

We would like to thank all our visitors who have and continue to support our efforts in ensuring a safe and comfortable visit to Blackwell.

Do you have to book a date or just purchase tickets?

    • Tracey Lee Scully says:

Hello Carol, Thanks for your enquiry. You will need to book a date when purchasing tickets, as we have timed-slots to ensure there aren’t too many people in the house at any one time. No booking is required for the tea room. Lakeland Arts has taken every possible precaution to ensure the safety of our team and our customers, in accordance with Government guidelines. We hope to see you soon!

Hello. So pleased that Blackwell will reopen on 4th December. Will there be outdoor seating options for cafe customers? I know it’s December, but I’m still nervous about indoor cafes. Thanks.
