Dave Dunlop holding his ‘Unsung Hero of the Year’ Award
We are incredibly proud to share that our very own boat-skipper, Dave Dunlop, has been named ‘Unsung Hero of the Year’ at the 2025 Pride of Cumbria Awards!
When he is not expertly navigating and managing our vessels at the Windermere Jetty Museum, Dave is making a big impact in his local community. He collects and distributes surplus food to families in need, mentor’s teens at a local youth drop-in, cooks bacon rolls for the 2015 flood-affected residents at a community cafe, and volunteers as a sailing instructor each year for young people on Lake District adventure holidays.
Dave always goes above and beyond. His dedication, generosity, and leadership make him a truly deserving winner!
