We are thrilled to announce Steven Beresford – our Senior Conservation Boatbuilder at Windermere Jetty Museum – is taking part in the upcoming edition of the Homo Faber Fellowship.
The Homo Faber Fellowship is a seven-month sponsored professional integration programme designed for duos of a master artisan and an emerging talent to facilitate an exchange of skills, enabling the further development of their craft careers. Developed by the Michelangelo Foundation and supported by Jaeger-LeCoultre, this programme combines a one-month masterclass with a six-month workshop apprenticeship.

In our case, Stephen Beresford is mentoring Line Packer in Boat Building within the Conservation Workshop. At the end of the programme, Stephen and Line will showcase a co-created object in the ‘Today’s Masters Meet Tomorow’s Talents’ exhibition.
There are participants from 19 nationalities across 4 continents, with artisans based in seven European countries – France, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the UK. There are 19 different crafts represented within the programme, including millinery, paper sculpting, ceramics, lamp making and more.
