Lakeland Arts is taking part in a season of events that celebrates the nation’s love of craft and marks 50 years of the Crafts Council.
Make! Craft! Live! is a selection of exhibitions, learning events, fairs, and digital activities that celebrates the value of craft to empower, enrich and connect our society. Running across 12 months until October 2022, this marks 50 years of the Crafts Council and will be delivered through craft activities taking place at venues across the UK such as craft studios, museums, galleries, schools and community centres.
Lakeland Arts is pleased to be selected as one of the Crafts Council’s partners. Working together we will highlight the social and environmental value of making, and platform new voices and narratives that have been historically overlooked. Championing ideas of diversity, sustainability, and resilience, our activity MEND is a call to action to rethink the role of making as a vehicle for social change and wellbeing.
